In a world where old friends are now scattered across cities and time zones, the 6 Pack Crew dashboard brings us back together—through competition, camaraderie, and shared miles. Born out of our love for running and friendly rivalry, this live dashboard gives our crew a place to compare stats, celebrate wins, and push each other to keep moving.

Powered by data from our Strava club, this dashboard tracks and displays the distance covered by each member throughout the month. But it’s more than just numbers—it’s a visual trophy case and a motivational nudge rolled into one.

This dashboard isn’t just about fitness; it’s about community, consistency, and competition. Whether it’s seeing who’s leading the monthly mileage or watching your own progress bar grow, it keeps us all engaged, accountable, and just a little bit competitive—even from afar.

The Tech Behind the Brag

Behind the scenes, it’s a fusion of clever engineering and Caribbean flair:

• Data Integration: We pull activity data from Strava using a custom data pipeline that captures and enriches the metrics we care about.

• ETL: Built in JavaScript, our ETL process runs via Google AppEngine and AppScripts, handling everything from data cleaning to transformation.

• Visualization: The front-end is powered by Looker Studio, styled with a familiar and vibrant Jamaican theme—a nod to our roots and our vibe.

Portfolio Highlight

This project was a quick and fun dive in data engineering, ETL design, API integration, and dashboard visualization—not to mention a creative use of off-the-shelf tools to solve  our problem. It’s a great example of how tech can strengthen connections and keep personal goals fun and engaging.
